Sign up with your full name, unique username, engineering branch, and email address. Verify your email with the 6-digit OTP sent to your inbox, or get started instantly using Google Sign-In.
Secure Log In
Log in with your registered email and password. Select Remember Me to keep your session active for up to 60 days. If you ever forget your password, use Forgot Password for an instant email OTP reset.
Complete Your Profile
Upload a clear profile picture and add your nickname and branch. This helps classmates recognize you on campus feeds, search results, and collaborative group discussions.

Direct 1-on-1 Messaging
You can start a chat with any registered student on Apnived without requiring a mutual follow. Simply visit their profile or search their username and click Message.
Message Request Safety Guard
To eliminate spam and unwanted bulk messages, the initial message sent to a user functions as a Message Request:
- Single starter message: You can send one introductory message to start the thread.
- Anti-spam lock: Additional messages are locked until the recipient sends a reply.
- Full unlock: Once the recipient responds, the conversation is permanently unlocked for unlimited messaging.
- Incoming requests: When someone reaches out to you, you can choose to reply immediately or ignore the thread.
Live Chat Controls
Know in real-time when the other student is composing a reply.
Double ticks confirm that your message has been delivered and viewed.
Edit typos or remove sent messages anytime directly within the chat.
Green status dots show when a peer is currently active on Apnived.

Public vs. Private Accounts
By default, accounts are set to Public so campus peers can discover your study posts. You can toggle your account to Private from Account Settings at any time. When private, new followers must be manually approved by you before they can view your feed.
Security & Profile Management
From your Account Settings dashboard, you can:
- Change Password: Update your password securely with real-time strength validation.
- Change Email: Transfer your account to a new email address via OTP verification.
- Session Management: View and invalidate active sessions across other devices.
The Resource Vault
A community-curated repository of academic materials and previous exam papers.
- Categorized Navigation: Seamlessly filter by Branch → Semester → Subject to find the exact material you need.
- Resource Types: Filter between Handwritten Notes, Previous Year Question Papers (PYQs), Lab Manuals, and Official Syllabus.
- Contribute Materials: Upload high-quality PDF study notes to assist your batchmates and juniors.
- Quality Moderation: All uploaded files undergo admin verification before publication to ensure quality and prevent spam.

Didn't receive your OTP verification email?
First, check your Spam, Junk, and Promotions tabs. If still not received after 60 seconds, tap Resend OTP on the verification screen. Double-check that your registered email address was spelled correctly.
Forgot your password?
Head to the login screen and click Forgot Password. Enter your registered email address to receive an instant OTP reset code and securely set a new password.
Why can't I send multiple messages to a user?
To prevent unsolicited spam, initial messages are sent as a Message Request. Once the recipient replies to your first message, the chat locks are lifted and you can message freely.
Why is my resource file upload failing?
Ensure that your file is in a supported format (PDF or DOCX) and is strictly under the 10MB upload limit. If your document exceeds 10MB, compress the PDF before uploading.
